Although it is often overlooked, your attic ventilation has a big impact on the life of your roof. 9 out of 10 attics in the United States are not properly ventilated. That means that your shingles can be exposed to extreme temperatures that can cause them to curl and age prematurely. Another reason we like to get in your attic is to make sure your bathroom exhaust fans are properly installed. Most bath fans aren’t properly installed and that hot moist air can lead to mold in your attic.

 

 

Proper roof ventilation and a properly insulated attic help keep your home energy efficient. To understand why they both work together, we must first understand why a home may be inefficient when it comes to the amount of energy it uses.
